Summary of Primary Role

The Data Analyst is responsible for maintaining and increase of the coverage of comprehensive databases of structured products and derivatives on www.StructuredRetailProducts.com: principally the English language databases

Main Responsibilities:

Research / Database:

• On-going maintenance of allocated databases with specific product information, including the brief descriptions in English and local language for each product
• Liaising with colleagues from other offices to make sure all main database objectives (completeness, timeliness and accuracy) are met
• Scouring financial websites for relevant products
• Liaising with companies to receive product information from them
• Gathering additional data not available via public domain sources (e.g., private banking products, confidential sales data)
• Updating product information (mainly sales volumes and product performances) every month
• Writing market analysis explaining recent trends and being engaged in the editorial aspects of the business
• Conducting surveys with clients and potential clients in various countries relevant to structured product research
• Building and maintaining a list of contacts to be used for database / research matters
• Assisting the preparation of reports for clients on monthly or ad hoc basis
• Assisting with development of any new databases, if required
• Helping maintain other databases and holiday/sickness cover when required

Editorial:

• Writing news stories relevant to structured products industry (new provider, regulation, people moves)
• Writing news stories/market reviews relevant to structured products industry
• Conducting one-to-one interviews (Q&A) with key people in our market
• All stories must be in compliance with the SRP guidance and house style

Sales and Marketing:

•  Helping sales with account management, providing data support through understanding market specifics, data from the market and analysis/reports
• Helping sales with existing and future business contacts (for data, sales and marketing purposes). Creating and maintaining relationships with market players for the benefit of the business.
• Other duties as requested by your immediate manager.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor/Master Degree in Finance, Business or Mathematics/Statistics
• Fluency in English
• Understanding of financial markets
• Excellent knowledge of Internet, Microsoft Office Excel/Spreadsheet applications
•  Previous database administration experience

• A “self-starter” who can contribute to the team with minimal supervision
• Ability to work under pressure and tight schedules
• Proven track record of working with or developing complex data wrangling solutions

• Rigorous attention to detail

• Strong interpersonal, communication skills and enthusiasm
• Good command of Spanish (esp written) will be considered an advantage
